Is this the junction where there are often accidents?
If so, then perhaps the council and/or police ought to take a careful look at why

As soon as I read the headline I was expecting to find that the crash was at the Christchurch Road junction. Having passed it many times it certainly doesn't seem dangerous. One can only assume that car drivers regularly jump the lights there and if so, the gap between the light phases should probably be increased.

There's always accidents there. Probably because of the short window of time people are able to turn right, so a few drivers will rush and accidentally slam into someone else. Maybe a right turn lane and light should be implemented with a realistic phase duration.
