A man from Thornton Heath has been arrested after a man was repeatedly stabbed in Eastbourne.
The 27-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm alongside a 26-year-old from Eastbourne on Saturday.
They were questioned before being released on bail until November 1.
The victim, aged 23, was found by police in the early hours of Saturday lying on the ground with stab wounds.
He was taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital, where he was treated and has since been discharged.
Detective Constable John Steven from Eastbourne CID said: "We are trying to establish the exact circumstances that led up to this assault and are appealing to anyone who was in the area between Elms Avenue and Grand Parade and witnessed the assault to please get in touch."
