This was the moment a suspected shoplifter was detained by supermarket security staff in Coulsdon.

The incident happened outside Waitrose in Brighton Road, at about 1.10pm last Thursday.

A 38-year-old man was arrested by police and charged with shoplifting.

Patrick White of Whitworth Road, South Norwood, appeared at Croydon Magistrates Court last Friday.

Mr White pleaded guilty to the theft of three legs of lamb, and was sentenced to a community order for six months.

He will be under intense supervision for the same period.

Coulsdon is changing. It used to be so nice, with a real village feel. Now more and more social housing being given away to the wrong sort. the demographic is visably changing. Mass immigration has reached us now and is changing the town. white natives will start moving out soon and itll go the way of most of the rest of croydon. shame

Nothing wrong with immigration or social housing. White natives are just as likely to commit crimes too.

Plenty of white trash in Coulsdon - we had the misfortune to live next door to some a few years ago. The neighbours where I live now are from different ethnic backgrounds and are mannerly, polite and well brought up.More of these please and less of the Ill-mannered, ignoramuses, complaining about immigration (when they've been sat in the pub all day).
