Operation targeting uninsured drivers causing traffic and travel delays in central Croydon

Police operation causing delays in Croydon Police operation causing delays in Croydon

Heavy traffic is affecting parts of Croydon as police target uninsured drivers.

Roman Way is particularly affected, with the road closed southbound between Derby Road and the Croydon Flyover.

A police spokesman said officers were running Operation Cubo on the road and that some traffic is to be expected.

The backlog of traffic is also causing delays on the Tramlink services between Reeves Corner and East Croydon.

More than 800 officers are taking part in Operation Cubo across London, and have set up road-side check points, as well as offering tips on how to avoid becoming a victim of vehicle crime.

Excellent work, but an hour's delay for someone to get to me is a bit much.

What a waste of tax payers money ! Surely police time could be spent better elsewhere ? Also the cost to local business by delays and people being late is not good ! I walked pass the area and the car fumes were very bad .... There must be a better way to catch non insurance drivers?
