Could Croydon become the next Tech City?

A lecture exploring whether Croydon has the potential to become the second Tech City will be held on Thursday.
Marketer Jonny Rose will be hosting the talk at Matthews Yard, looking at the borough's potential to emulate the successes of East London's 'Tech City.'
The government touted 'Tech City' refers to a cluster of over 400 early stage technical and digital start-ups in the Shoreditch and Old Street area, such as Soundcloud, Yammer and Last.fm.
Both Google and Amazon recently moved to the area to be closer to technical and commercial talent.
The talk which starts at 8pm, will consider why Croydon is well positioned to become a home for European start-ups and how Croydon Tech City could be formed in 2013.
