Residents raise £1,000 in honour of four-year-old Sophie Hutson with cerebral palsy

Residents of the Whitgift Almshouses have raised £1,000 for a charity set up by the parents of a four-year-old with cerebral palsy.
The Diamonds and Dickie Bows themed day, held in the Almshouse gardens, was attended by 120 people, including residents' families and friends and the congregation of their local churches.
The money raised was donated to Small Steps for Sophie, a charity raising money to enable Sophie Hutson of Warlingham to undergo life changing operations which will eventually allow her to walk independently.
Sophie's parents Terry and Lisa said: "We are extremely grateful for the funds raised for Sophie and hope her dream of being able to walk unaided will be a reality soon."
