Croydon Council warn residents over cold callers
Residents are being warned to ask cold callers for ID after two tried to get into an elderly couple's home.
Two callers claiming to be from Skanska, the council's street lighting contractor, tried to get into an elderly couple’s home, in Chaffinch Avenue, Shirley
The residents asked for ID at which point the callers quickly left.
A council spokesman said residents should always ask callers for identification.
If you are concerned about a cold caller, phone the police on 101.
