Croydon schoolboy Kyle Spence called up to play for Scotland
9:10am Friday 19th October 2012 in News
Kyle Spence has played five games for Scotland's under 16s
A Croydon schoolboy touted as the new Edgar Davids has been called up to play for Scotland's under-16s team for the sixth time.
Kyle Spence who attends Oasis Academy Shirley Park, also plays for Crystal Palace Football Academy.
He made his début for the national side against Latvia on August 21.
Kyle said: "I’m really pleased to have got the call up but I’m not getting carried away with it.
"There’s a lot of competition but I’m working hard and the coaching teams at Crystal Palace and Scotland are good, so when I'm called up I want to be ready and do my job."
