Whiz kids in Sutton are among the best in the country at English and maths, according to the latest school league tables.
The borough's 11-year-olds got an 86 per cent pass rate in the Level 4+ combined English and Maths score which sets out the standards children should be achieving.
The result is the best in Sutton's history and puts the borough joint second in the country alongside Kensington and Chelsea and Trafford and just behind Richmond.
Councillor Dave Callaghan, chairman of the children, family and education committee said: "The achievement of these young people, and indeed the teachers, is phenomenal.
"It’s outcomes like these that help us to demonstrate why Sutton is known for excellence in education."
