A motor with a taste for truly scrumptious adventures has landed on Wimbledon Common.
The star of a new Chitty Chitty Bang Bang book – in which the flying car with a mind of its own is reborn as a funky camper van – roared on to the common last week.
It appeared alongside primary school children and author Frank Cottrel Boyce, who has written Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Flies Again, as part of literary festival Wimbledon Bookfest.
The original book was written by Ian Fleming, the creator of James Bond, in 1964.
The author’s family asked the father-of-seven to write the first sequel, which was officially released on Friday.
