An Epsom fashion student collected a prize from the Queen at a diamond jubilee event in Bromley on Tuesday, May 15.
Mariapia Meno, 26, from Italy, is in her final year as a fashion student at the University for Creative Arts, Epsom.
She was selected as one of six winners in Fashion Capital’s Future of Fashion competition.
To enter, students had to submit illustrations representing the future of fashion.
She said: "I submitted a collage that was part of a print project I did this year. It was inspired by photo reportage of the Congo and featured mixed ethnic patterns and jewellery with hand painted shapes.
"Winning came as a surprise and I was very excited to meet the Queen. The event also gave me the opportunity to meet and chat with other designers."
