A fund-raising concert has been organised in aid of the James Haddad Appeal Fund, featuring local youngster James Ford playing guitar.
The event will take place on Sunday, June 9, at the Cartoon, on London Road, where James Ford, 11, like James Haddad a St Mary's School pupil, and The Austin Smith band will play live music.
The concert starts at 8pm and money raised on the door will go to the Appeal Fund. There will also be an auction of a signed guitar and memorabilia from the Lynda La Plante television series Trial and Retribution, in which James Ford makes his acting debut.
James Ford's dad Peter told the Guardian: "When we read about James Haddad's illness, it puts everything into perspective. We were approached about holding a concert, so we were only too willing to help." Tickets will be available on the door at a cost of £5.
