The memory of James Haddad, the nine-year-old West Croydon schoolboy who lost his battle against a brain tumour last year, will live on in Croydon after a pear tree was dedicated to him last week.
James’ family - dad Robert, mum Sue and sister Christine - helped plant small pear tree, the same age as James, at the Heathfield Ecology Centre, Ballard’s Way, on Thursday, August 14.
The plaque reads: “The spirit of a boy runs free in this orchard. James Haddad: 20th June 1993 - 26th October 2003.” Robert Haddad said: “This tree is so special to us and we will look after it. We are very touched that people are still remembering James.”
