A man has been stabbed to death following a disturbance in Croydon.
Police were called to reports of a disturbance in Thomson Crescent, Croydon, about 8.10pm on Saturday.
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a man in his early 20s suffering stab wounds.
He was taken to Mayday Hospital but pronounced dead just before 11pm.
Police believe they know the identity of the dead man but are awaiting formal identification from his next of kin.
The scene has been cordoned off and a forensic examination has begun.
The coroner has been informed and an inquest will open and adjourn in due course.
A postmortem examination is due to be held at Croydon Mortuary tomorrow.
Detectives are treating the death as murder.
There have been no arrests so far and inquiries continue.
