Thieves ram-raided a convenience store in Coulsdon early this morning.

A red car crashed into the front of the Londis shop on Chipstead Valley Road at about 4.40am, before driving away.

A police spokesman confirmed they were investigating a burglary at the shop and said it was not yet known what items were stolen in the raid.

The manager of the store, who did not want to be named, said he was waiting for police forensics.

He said: "I haven't been allowed to touch anything, I don't know what has been taken or its value."

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
