A schoolboy's script about a group of teenagers' adventure in the tunnels of Crystal Palace is to be made into a short film.

Ollie Rogers, 12, wrote the script as practice for his dream job as a film director.

The Harris Academy Crystal Palace pupil will see his story brought to life after being approached by a local drama club.

The filming of 'Tunnels' will begin in the summer and the Crystal Palace film club making the film, will work out of Antenna Studios and film in and around Crystal Palace.

Ollie said: "The film is about a group of four friends that are my age and they really want to go out, because they are really bored.

"A series of events leads to them going into the tunnels and a mystery adventure takes place, but it ends on a cliffhanger.

"I love writing and I had written other things, but not like this."

Ollie of Templeton Close, will direct the short film under the guidance of Catherine Eaglestone of Redeaglearts, a filmmaking and acting school.

The Crystal Palace Young Filmmakers Club is now looking for young actors and crew members to become involved in the film.

The five week workshop course will begin on Saturday, March 2 and is available to children and young people aged eight and over.

Ollie added: "I am going to direct this film which will be a really good experience.

"We are also looking for people around the ages of 11 and 13 years old for the main characters, but there are quite a lot of roles in the script for other people."
