Plans have been submitted for the first phase of one of the town centre’s masterplans.

The first residential building of the Ruskin Square Masterplan was submitted last week.

The plot lies adjacent to East Croydon Rail Station and the plans take into account the existing railway buildings as well as new public realm improvements such as the new East Croydon Station bridge and the Pedestrian Link.

There will be 161 new apartments, with 34 being affordable. The building itself will vary in height, consisting of two sections between nine and 22 storeys.

The Homes and Communities Agency have also approved £3.7 million of funding for Ruskin Square to facilitate the infrastructure for the first phase of the development.
