IKEA‘s Valley Park superstore has resumed the sale of wiener sausages.

They had previously been recalled as a precautionary measure following the discovery of horsemeat DNA in a batch meatballs.

The sausages come from the same supplier.

All of the company’s wiener sausages underwent DNA analysis and none were showed to any contain any horsemeat.

Anders Lennartsson, from IKEA Food Services said: "The trust of our customers is of outmost importance for us.

"We do not tolerate any other ingredients than the ones stipulated in our recipes or product specifications".

Ikea say its meatballs will remain off the shelves and they are trying to find the root cause of the presence of horse meat in meatballs.
