One of the UK's fastest growing women's sports said goodbye to its current venue in South Croydon this week.
Roller Derby is a contact sport on roller skates played by two teams of five, who each have a designated player to score points by lapping members of the opposing team.
Croydon Roller Derby skated to victory in their last tournament at home venue Monks Hill sports Hall.
It will be moving to a new venue at Trinity School when Monks Hill School closes down.
One of the quirks of the sport is that players take on nicknames.
Deirdre ‘Death Valley’ O’Malley, 34, has been playing for three years said: "I’d never been into sport before this but it’s so much fun.
"We all have alter-egos once we have been initiated."
