A popular couple celebrated a milestone in their marriage, last week, as they raised a glass to their diamond wedding anniversary.

Brenda and Stan Harrison, both 81, spent the day, on June 10, reminiscing with their large family at a party thrown in their honour.

Daughter Sheila Solazzo, 54, says that the couple who have always lived in Epping Forest enjoyed spending their special day with the family that they are ‘devoted’ to.

She said: “They have lived around the area their entire lives, they were married at St John’s Church in Buckhurst Hill in 1953.

“My dad worked with computers and my mum did bits here and there, but their main focus has always been making sure that we were alright.

“They got a card from the Queen and we had a little party at my house for them, it was a really lovely day.

“Mum and dad live for their family, their children and their grandchildren, they have dedicated their lives to us there is no two ways about it.

Mr and Mrs Harrison of Oakwood Hill Road, Loughton, have four children, 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren to keep them on their toes.

Mrs Solazzo , her brother Michael Harrison and her sister Janette Curtis all live in Epping Forest, close to their parents.

She said: “We have to make sure they’re behaving.

“They do so much for us. They cared for my niece when she was unwell. They are always there for all of us.

“If we could we would send them away on a lovely holiday.”
