A New Addington man was arrested this morning when police investigating an aggravated burglary raided three properties in south Croydon.

The man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and was bailed until Thursday, September 12.

The arrest comes after the burglary in Newchapel last year, in the early hours of June 12.

A family of four, including father, mother and two teenage daughters, were tied up and the father threatened with a gun.

Burglars at the property raided the whole house and many high value items including a Rolex watch and a Louis Vuitton handbag were stolen.

This morning, entry was forced at three properties as part of Operation Jarrah, after information was passed to Surrey Police following an appeal on Crimewatch earlier this year.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Portia Andrews said: "The warrants this morning were executed following information received by people who watched Crimewatch in March and I am very grateful that they contacted the show to assist with the investigation.

"Since the offence took place I have worked closely with the family and I hope the execution of these warrants demonstrates our commitment to them and the Surrey public that we will do our utmost to find those responsible for crime in our county and bring them to justice."
