Shopper conned by eastern European men in Asda Beddington car park hustle
A shopper fell victim to a pack of tricksters who accosted her in a Beddington supermarket car park and ended up stealing more than £300 from her.
The woman, 53, had paid for goods using her bank card in the store and returned to her black Mercedes in the Asda car park when a stranger with a map approached her and asked for directions at 11.40am on Tuesday, October 15.
She told the man she did not know the directions he needed and another man approached and joined the conversation.
As the woman talked to the men a passer-by shouted to her to tell her a third man was trying to steal her bag from her car, at which point all three men walked away.
Within 30 minutes, the woman's bank called her to tell her three withdrawals totalling £335 had been made and several further attempts to use the card had been declined.
The three suspects are men, aged between 20 and 40 and of eastern European appearance. One of them was between 30- and 35-years-old, wore a light brown jacket, was unshaven and had short dark hair.
If you were in the car park at the time or have any other information, call police on 0800 555 111.
