Police have appealed for help to trace a car that mowed down a clubber in a "deliberate" hit and run and left him with potentially life-changing injuries.

Detectives investigating the collision in Whitehorse Lane, Selhurst, on August 31, believe a light-coloured Hyundai Amica car mounted the pavement and struck the 31-year-old after he left Crystals nightclub.

The victim suffered serious head injuries, including a fractured skull, after being hit from behind by the fast-moving car as he walked with friends

Police last week said they believed the driver "deliberately targeted" the group.

Detectives believe the vehicle, thought to have links to Eltham, Anerly and Enfield, had the registration number W431 BHK but have been unable to contact its registered owner.

Detectives today appealed for anyone who has seen the car or knows who owns it to come forward.

Detective Constable Lorna Sillet said: "The victim was left with very serious injuries and sustained a fractured skull as a result of this incident.

"We're determined to identify and find those responsible and we're asking the public for their help in locating this vehicle.

"Please get in touch if you've seen it in the past few days, or if you know where it is. We'd also ask any garages in the London and south-east area to contact us if they've carried out, or had requests for repair work on a vehicle matching this description since Sunday."

Anyone with information can contact Det Cons Sillett at Croydon police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
