A 30-year-old man has been charged with attempting to murder his mother following a stabbing at a carer support centre in Croydon town centre.
Derrion Davidson, of Watney Close, Purley, is alleged to have repeatedly stabbed the 64-year-old in the offices in George Street.
He was arrested on Tuesday and appeared at Croydon Magistrates' Court this morning.
He is also charged with theft from a person and possession of a blade in public.
Mr Davidson, who is unemployed, was remanded in custody to appear at Croydon Crown Court on September 23.
His mother's injuries were not life-threatening.
The carer support centre, which was closed yesterday, was due to reopen today.
