Two people have been arrested after a bloody knife was found outside a house in south Croydon.
Police were called to the gory discovery, made in Melville Avenue by a member of the public, at 10am on Sunday.
They arrested a 35-year-old woman at a nearby house on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
After further inquiries they found a 40-year-old man with a deep cut to his arm in the Forestdale estate.
He was taken to hospital but discharged later on Sunday. Police subsequently arrested him on suspicion of aggravated burglary, criminal damage and possession of cannabis.
He remains in police custody.
The 35-year-old woman has been bailed until late October pending further police investigation.
Officers in the Metropolitan Police's community safety unit, which deals with domestic abuse and hate crimes, are investigating.
