Ancient Roman and Anglo-Saxon artefacts will go on show after 60 years hidden from public view.

From Tuesday, October 28, Museum of Croydon’s Riesco Gallery, in Croydon Clocktower, Katharine Street, Croydon, will host hundreds of objects found during the 20th century, including coins and the remains of a young Anglo-Saxon adult found in a garden in Purley.

The family-friendly exhibits will also let children learn about the history of human settlement in the area.

Cabinet member for culture Councillor Timothy Godfrey said: “The fact that these objects will now be on permanent display is a major step toward creating an exciting and diverse cultural offering.”
