A teenage girl found dead after reportedly falling victim to bullying posted a farewell message to friends online.

Ashdon Muirhead, 14, wrote "Imma miss you all" on Facebook just hours before being discovered in her home in Mersham Road on Saturday.

The teenager, a pupil at Norbury Manor Business and Enterprise College, was today described as "beautiful" and "joyful" by shocked neighbours, while her headteacher said she "lively and intelligent".

Friends said Ashdon was bullied before her sudden death, which police are not treating as suspicious.

A neighbour, who asked not be named, said: "She always seemed so happy, so joyful. It is hard to believe what has happened.

"She was such a beautiful girl. She was lovely, friendly, and would always say hello.

"It is such a tragedy. It is hard to take it in."

A Facebook page titled Ashdon's World, set up since her death, has gathered more than 1,500 members, many posting tributes to the schoolgirl.

Katherine Harris wrote: "Rest in peace beautiful, so many people cared about you it breaks my heart to know that you didn't see it."

Darling Bless said: "This is too sad, people need to think before they talk. You don't have to bully someone physically but mentally and emotionally. Rip Ashdon sorry you had to die this way."

Amanda Compton, headteacher at Norbury Manor, said yesterday: "The whole college are deeply saddened and shocked by the tragic news of Ashdon and we would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to her family at this incredibly difficult time.

"She was a lively and intelligent student and both staff and students are struggling to come to terms with her loss."

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "Police were called at approximately 2.15pm on Saturday, November 15 to reports of sudden death at a residential address in Mersham Road, Thornton Heath.

"Officers and London Ambulance Service attended. The deceased is a 14-year-old girl.

"Enquiries into the circumstances continue. At this stage, the death is not being treated as suspicious."
