Thornton Heath man to stand trial accused of rape and attempted rape
A Thornton Heath man is set to stand trial for rape and attempted rape following a string of sex attacks on lone women.
Pedro Antonio Baptista Boieiro, 28, of Brigstock Road, is accused of raping a young woman in Granville Gardens, Norbury, on March 27.
He is also charged of two attempted rapes within hours of each other in Challice Way, Streatham, and Covington Way, Norbury, on December 20 and 21 last year.
Mr Boieiro was arrested on Thursday in Thornton Heath, and will stand trial on May 23 after pleading not guilty at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
He has been remanded in custody.
