One person was injured when a car and van crashed in South Norwood this morning.

The smash, in which the van also collided with a lamp post, forced the closure of a busy road at rush hour, causing delays.

Police and paramedics were called to reports of a crash between a car, a van and a lamp post at the junction of South Norwood Hill and Portland Road at 5.43am.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said one person was treated on the scene for minor injuries but no one was taken to hospital.
