A woman was “punched in the face” and was robbed of her gold necklace in a Croydon street.

Police are appealing for information after the woman, in her 40s, was “grabbed from behind” and her gold necklace snatched in Sutherland Road at 7.45pm on Friday, May 13.

After fighting back, the woman was punched in the face and fell to floor, but still managed to stop the man from stealing her bracelet.

The man is described as black, in his late teens to early 20s and about 5ft 7in.
