Three teenagers have been charged with the murder of 19-year-old Andre Aderemi in South Croydon.

Jamall Longergan, of Woodcroft Road, Thornton Heath, Fabio Cela, of Fryston Avenue, Shirley, and Rodney Mukasa, of Green View Avenue, Monk's Orchard, will appear at Camberwell Green Magistrates' court today.

The trio, all 19, were charged with the murder of Mr Aderemi last night following their arrests earlier this week.

The former Oasis Academy Shirley Park and John Ruskin College pupil was found bleeding to death in Heather Way at 7.40pm on Tuesday.

He died later in hospital despite frantic efforts from members of the public and paramedics to save him.

Rows of flowers and dozens of heartbreaking messages have been laid in Heather Way in an outpouring of grief since the fatal stabbing.

In an emotional church service held on the Monks Hill estate just hours after his death, Mr Aderemi's mother Yemi described her eldest son as a "rock" and revealed the family had moved away from the area to try to "get him out of this environment".

The murdered teenager's aunt Mandy, who opened the service, pleaded for young people to "stop the warring" so "another mother and another family doesn't have to be grieving like we are today".

Teddy bears and heartbroken messages have been left in Heather Way along with candles spelling “RIP Dee”, who was an aspiring rapper under the name Dee Rose.

Dan Morrow, Mr Aderemi’s former headteacher at Oasis Academy Shirley Park, paid tribute the teenager this week, describing him as a "truly kind and wonderful young man".

He added:“As his former headteacher, he was one of those students who you always remember - a natural born leader and full of potential.”
