A group of teenagers charged with murdering 19-year-old Andre Aderemi in South Croydon are set to stand trial in February.

Jamall Longergan, of Woodcroft Road, Thornton Heath, Fabio Cela, of Fryston Avenue, Shirley, and Rodney Mukasa, of Green View Avenue, Monks Orchard, appeared at the Old Bailey this morning accused of stabbing the aspiring rapper to death in the Monks Hill estate on Tuesday.

Mr Aderemi - also known as Dee Rose - was found with multiple stab wounds at 7.40pm in Heather Way.

Mr Cela, Mr Lonergan, and Mr Mukasa, all 19, were arrested in the early hours of the next morning.

The trio, all 19, appeared in person at the Old Bailey this morning wearing green prison tracksuits.

Judge Michael Topalski remanded the three in custody and ordered them to return on November 8 to enter pleas.

As the three left the dock, Mr Lonergan raised his hand in the air in apparent greeting to someone in the public gallery.

Last night 18-year-old Ali Zahawy became the fourth teenager to be charged with the murder of Mr Aderemi.

Mr Zahawy, of Bramble Close, Shirley, will appear at Croydon Magistrates' Court today.

A provisional trial date for the four accused of the murder has been set for February 13.

Mr Aderemi lived in Monks Hill before his family moved to Chatham, Kent, earlier this year.

The former John Ruskin College and Oasis Academy Shirley Park pupil's death prompted an outpouring of grief on the estate, where bunches of flowers and dozens of messages have been left in tribute.

Friends have described the teenager - an aspiring rapper under the name Dee Rose - as a "funny, bright and talented guy".

During an emotional church service in Monks Hill on Wednesday Mr Aderemi’s family begged young people to “stop the warring” so "another mother and another family doesn't have to be grieving like we are today".

His mother said the family had moved away from the estate to "get him out of this environment".
