This is the face of a man police want to question about a terrifying burglary which left a woman paralysed after she jumped from a window to escape the raiders.

Diem Lac Truong, 48, was left psychologically and physically scarred after two men burst into her Purley Way home in April.

The single mum had her hands and feet bound, was thrown on to her bed and had her underwear removed by the intruders before they began ransacking the house for cash and jewellery.

Terrified she was about to be raped, Mrs Truong managed to scramble to the bedroom window and throw herself out into a neighbour’s garden, narrowly avoiding impaling herself on a set of metal spikes.

The 48-year-old was left crippled by the fall and has spent months attempting to learn to walk again despite not being able to feel her legs below the knees.

Croydon police have now released an e-fit of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the burglary on Friday April 23.

It is believed that the burglars had access to a long wheel based Ford Transit ‘Jumbo’.

The man may have links to the Wandsworth area.

The first raider was wearing a mask and gloves. The second suspect is a tanned male, 5 ft 4 ins tall and of slim build.

The incident is being investigated by Croydon CID.

Detective Sergeant Lee Bourne said: "The victim in this case has been left with injuries that are likely to affect her for the rest of her life.

"She has shown tremendous courage in dealing with both the physical and emotional effects of an extremely traumatic experience.

"Therefore, I would ask anyone who thinks they can identify the man in the e-fit or has any other information that could assist the investigation, to please contact police."

Mrs Lac Truong, won the Croydon Champions act of bravery award for her courage in dealing with her injuries.

Anyone with information should call Croydon police on 020 8649 1377 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
