A teenager found at home with serious head injuries could have been bottled hours earlier in Canterbury Road Recreation Ground.
The 19-year-old was found collapsed at his house on April 7 and was taken to a south London hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.
Officers are keeping an open mind at this stage regarding the circumstances of how the teenager sustained his injuries.
However, it is thought that the he may have been bottled in the Canterbury Road Recreation Ground, on the afternoon of the April 6.
Detective Sergeant Kenny Winsor of Croydon CID said: “I would ask anyone who was in or around the area of Canterbury Road recreation ground on 6 April from midday onwards and who may have information that could help the investigation, to get in touch.”
