A new play, kim cos tim, is being staged by members of the campaign group Lives Not Knives later this month.
The group created the play, which incorporates song, rap, dance and comedy, with the help of script writer Alan Charles. They hope it will help parents, teachers and youth workers understand the issues and stimulate debate.
Monique Rebeiro from the group said: "The LNK team have been there and done it..... but now want to make a difference in their community. Therefore, we will use all profits to take LNK roadshows to more schools, to talk to pupils about the consequences of getting involved with gangs and carrying a weapon."
The play is on at the Ashcroft Theatre, Fairfield Halls on Monday, June 27, at 7.30pm. Tickets, which will be on sale in North End on Saturday are obtainable via livesnotknives@hotmail.com or call 0771 3048569
