British Transport Police have confirmed the person who died yesterday near to Norbury station was a man.

The 47-year-old, believed to be from Walthamstow, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident, which was reported at 4.06pm is currently being treated as non-suspicious.

A file will now be prepared for the coroner.

The train involved was the 15.53 London Victoria to East Grinstead service, Network Rail were handed back the line at 4.50.pm.

I don't know why the entire network was affected. Southern Railway don't seem to be able to cope with these incidents. I don't know why trains were still being cancelled 5 hours afterwards - it seems pretty clueless.

Well - if you think it takes only a short time to pick up bits of fingers, heart, eyes, liver, etc. perhaps you should try doing it yourself.

The reason trains are still being cancelled up to 5 hours after an incident like this, is because they are in the wrong places and the timetable becomes useless. Also the current takes a while to filter through the system once it is switched back on. It causes problems for passangers and staff alike.
