A teenager has appeared in court after a disabled boy was brutally attacked and robbed at a tram stop.

Police were called to reports of an assault at Parkway tram stop in New Addington, Croydon, on Friday at about 10.50am.

They found a 16-year-old disabled boy suffering from cuts and bruises to his head after being punched, kicked and head butted. He was also robbed of his mobile phone.

A 14-year-old boy appeared at Camberwell Green Magistrates court yesterday and was charged with robbery.
