Your pictures of the Crystal Palace tower during a special event to mark the digital switchover could scoop you a widescreen TV.

London’s historic switch from analogue to digital TV was celebrated with a spectacular lightshow at Crystal Palace broadcast tower last week.

At 9.15pm on Wednesday, a two-and-a-half-minute opening sequence will culminate with a beam of light shooting up the tower and radiating out over London.

The tower remained illuminated until 11pm and lit up again the following night at the same time.

Arqiva, owners of Crystal Palace tower and the company behind the UK’s digital switchover, has teamed up with Your Local Guardian to give one budding photographer the chance to win a widescreen, HD TV.

All you have to do to stand a chance of winning is submit a photo of the illuminated tower and send it to us at digitalmedia@london.newsquest.co.uk by midnight on Wednesday, April 25.

Readers will be able to view all the photos online from the following day and vote by text for their favourite.

The photo with the most votes will win, with voting closing at midnight on May 7. The winner will be announced during the week of May 14.

Normal Newsquest terms and conditions apply and entrants agree to their photographs being used by Arqiva.

Full terms and conditions can be viewed, together with more information about the celebrations, on Arqiva’s Digital Switchover night blog at www.arqiva.com.
