Police discovered a cannabis farm at the home of a van driver stopped for having no insurance.

Officers from Bromley Police stopped the white transit van on Bromley Road, Shortlands, at 10pm yesterday evening after it flagged up as having no insurance.

A 37-year-old man from Croydon was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs and driving without insurance, after a search of the van discovered cannabis was hidden throughout the vehicle.

When officers later conducted a search of the man's home they discovered a cannabis factory, where about 150 plants were growing.

The man remains in police custody and the vehicle has been impounded.
