Fire breaks out in St James Road, West Croydon
Fire fighters have been called to a blaze at a block of flats on St James Road, West Croydon.
More than 40 officers and eight fire engines are at the scene tackling the fire in a residential four storey block of flats.
The blaze is on the second floor.
An ambulance crew have also been called to the scene and a hazardous area response team is also traveling to the site, though no patients have yet been reported at this time
Crews were called to the scene just after 5pm and since it broke out, the fire brigade have been inundated with more than 20 seperate calls reporting the incident.
