Sunrise Senior Living Purley encourages seniors to get online
8:00am Sunday 30th September 2012 in Local news By Hannah Williamson
Sunrise Senior Living Purley have partnered with Age UK to get more seniors online.
The residential, nursing and dementia care home are offering residents, families and their friends the chance to get connected, by participating in a free computer training course.
The first session was held on September 18, at the care home on Russell Hill Road. It is hoped the sessions will become a regular event, with the second session organised for Tuesday October 2, from 1.30pm.
The free courses will teach basic computer and internet skills, with digital photography.
Maggie Griffith, Director of Community Relations at Sunrise Purley said: "This fantastic initiative will help residents at Sunrise of Purley keep up with the younger generations- the internet is not just for teenagers.
"We were delighted to welcome Age UK's initiative so our residents and non-Sunrise members can learn from each other.
"The first session was great. Make sure you all sign up- with no charge, there is no excuse not to become a 'silver surfer.'"
