Investors and key decision makers were given a tour of the town last week to see Croydon's transformation.

Private developers and agents, went on a borough-wide tour on Wednesday September 26 where they saw Croydon from both a private and public sector perspective.

Jon Rouse, chief executive of London Borough of Croydon, welcomed the delegates over breakfast at the Ruskin Square Marketing Suite in Dingwall Road.

Delegates then went on a VIP tour by private tram from East Croydon, through Old Town, onto Wandle Park and Purley Way.

Guests saw key sites throughout the borough and had a tour of the retail sector in the town centre.

It culminated in Croydon’s Restaurant Quarter where Michelin award-winning chef Malcolm John hosted lunch at his Fish & Grill restaurant.

Richard Plant, chairman of the Develop Croydon Forum and Partner of Stiles Harold Williams, said: “The feedback we have had is that the guests found the tour very informative and we hope it has challenged and changed their perceptions of Croydon for the better.

“We are seeing people fresh to Croydon becoming involved in the town and this gave them a spectacular overview of the changes that are taking place.”
