A 23-year-old woman had a cardiac arrest at East Croydon station.

The ambulance staff were quickly on the scene and made extensive efforts to resuscitate the woman before she was taken to Croydon University Hospital.

The incident happened at around 4pm on Wednesday, October 10.

One witness said: “I saw a young lady being given CPR at East Croydon, it was quite upsetting.

“I was on platform 5 and there were some paramedics and police.

“She looked as though she was in office clothes.

“I just hope she survived. It is quite scary when you are young.”

An ambulance spokeswoman said: “We were called just before 4pm to reports of a person taken unwell.

“We sent two ambulance crews and the first staff arrived in four minutes.

“Staff treated a 23-year-old woman in cardiac arrest.

“They made extensive efforts to resuscitate her before she was taken to Croydon University Hospital.”
