A woman and two children escaped from a burning house in Croydon last night.
Fire crews from Croydon fire station were called to the blaze at an address in Maxwell Close at 9.07pm. The fire started in the bedroom and firefighters were able to stop the fire from spreading to surrounding rooms. There was heavy smoke throughout the whole building.
The woman and children left the property before the before the Brigade arrived. They were suffering from smoke inhalation and treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service.
The blaze was under control by 9.52pm.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
