A convicted Rolex robber was today cleared of involvement in a shooting six months after he was found not guilty of murder.
Jermain Abbott, 22, walked free after an Old Bailey jury found he was not the getaway driver for a gunman who shot a night-clubber with an Uzi sub machine gun.
The court heard how Abbott was allegedly at the wheel of a gold Audi when one of his passengers shot a clubber after a trivial row outside the Atlantis night-club in Purley.
Abbott, of Erconwald Street, East Acton, was acquitted by a jury of three charges of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life, and three charges of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear or violence.
