Despite spending around £600 on 10,000 flyers urging people to vote for her, Croydon’s Pop Idol wannabe has failed to make it through Saturday’s heat.
However, she could still make it through as one of the eight wildcard places avcailable. Kelly-Marie Smith, 22, from Croydon made it into the final 50 hopefuls on ITV’s singing showdown programme Pop Idol, but failed impress the public during her heat on September 20.
After being picked from 200,000 applicants to get to the heat stage, around 10,000 were distributed to homes and in phone boxes across the borough urging residents to vote for their local Pop Idol.
