To mark World Refugee week Oasis Women's Group and Croydon Refugee Forum are holding an exhibition this weekend.
The work of the Oasis Women's Group will be on show and there will also be a chance to watch songs, dancing, poetry and a fashion show.
The event is to raise awareness of the plight of refugees, who the organisers say sometimes face unfair preconceptions.
Moulkhier Meslem, founder of the group, said: "We want to show people in Croydon that refugees and asylum seekers are not a threat but quite the opposite.
"It will be a chance for Croydon women to celebrate the contribution that refugee women make to the UK's cultural and economic heritage."
The event will be held at Stanley Halls, South Norwood Hill, this Saturday between 2pm and 4.30pm.
