Why is it that people who chose not to work get benefits & concessions, whereas hard workers get nothing.
The latest being cheap bus travel if you are a "sponger" on benefits, but people like me, have to pay fares to get to work, to earn the money, to pay the tax, that funds their cheap rides!
If I use my car to get into work, I am hammered by Petrol tax, Road tax & the Congetsion charge... Why should I work?
Answer that question!

Do you have a firm date for getting agreement from train operators, in particular South-West Trains, on use of Oyster cards on their services?

Mayor, there is talk on various websites about a report commisioned by TfL that indicates the proposed £25 tax on 4x4 will worsen the congestion in london and make polution worse. This report was only published in part, concerning central london. Why was this and can you confirm the impact that the £25 charge will have on pollution and congestion on London as a whole.

Furthermore, what are you doing to reduce congestion in other regional hubs such as Sutton, Kingston etc....

The average Zone 5 station is 11.8 miles from London. The average Zone 6 station is 14.6 miles from London. Kingston and Surbiton stations are only 12 miles from London, yet they are in Zone 6. Does Mr Livingstone support the campaign to have them re-zoned?

Ken, On TV on Tuesday night you said one of the causes of the increasing violence amongst young people "is the lack of things for them to do" -
As Mayor for the last 8 years surely you must take huge responsibility for this, particularly when it appears their have been, to put it politely, issues surrounding how vital money is being distributed by the LDA?

Ken, your choice to introduce bendy-buses on some of London's routes has directly lead to an increase in accidents. It is widely understood that these buses are a danger to vulnerable road users, especially cyclists (thats when they are not bursting into flames).

Do you not feel responsible for this decision and take responsibility for the rise in accidents since their introduction.

Additionally, how do you justify the vast sums of money spent changing the road allignment to permit the passage of these buses, that would not have been required if normal buses were used. Money better spent on reducing anti-social behaviour on our buses.

Ken, how come we are one of the only cities with an underground system and no air-conditioning.

Rome and New York both have a hotter climate and an effectively cooled system.

When are we going to get an air-conditioned tube network?

Ken, when will you be publishing a list of people who have contributed to your re-election campaign such as the unions and property developers who have had their planning permission approved and even championed by the mayors office?

Hi Ken Can you please tell me why year 6 children in London Borough of Sutton cannot get a place at a local school instead we are told to apply to schools out of the borough. I am not happy to put an 11 year old on public transport at 7am so they can get to school on time. Do you have any suggestions

Many of us are prisoners in local authority housing with no prospect of being allowed to transfer alsewhere due to lack of housing stock. I have 3 children and have been told I have to have a 4 bedroom house if I want to move but, oops, there aren't any! This has been the case for years. Aren't you going to do anything to alleviate such housing problems? It's amazing how easily non-English speaking people get housed...

Ken.

What will you do if congestion is seen to increase in London as a result of allowing cars with lower emmissions into the zone for free? It may promote your push for the environment, but totally destroys the point of the congestion charge (or is the word congestion in its name no longer applicable?).

Posted by: Martin, Mitcham on 8:22pm Wed 16 Apr 08
Ken, What are you doing to enable the Regeneration of Mitcham? The Tories are blocking this since gaining power in 2006 without a majority of wards (30 Tories, 27 Labour, 3 independent). Labour were on the verge of making this happen in 2006 and would have created much needed housing in the area. The people continue to wait!

Ken - Where have you been all this time? I knew you hadn't forgotten us in Kingston, as you keep sending the bills.

ken

do you not think the looming recession is down to the fact you charge people so much money just to live.

driving, parking and public transport have all increased in your time in power and what has it achieved other than people have less money?

why do you insist of spening all the money you make from traffic offences on speed cameras, speed bumps, congestion cameras, lez cameras etc etc

when the basic safety on a road is having good contact between tyre and tarmac. drive around london(which you wont) and notice that raods havent been surfaced properly for a good 10 years.

instead we have an assualt course, causing more damage to our cars, meaning even more money to drive and the safety of road users is at risk sliding around of gravel roads.

i think you will lose this vote purely on car drivers alone.
Posted by: ric, kingston on 10:37am Thu 17 Apr 08
ken why is it ok to punish drivers with the LEZ/ 4x4 tax.

but its ok to open a new terminal and start building a new runway? way more polluting than a city of cars.

im sure if you ask the people in heathrow and feltham what they would rather see less of it wouldnt be a 3litre car.

What's the difference between Ken the common cold?

You are easily rid of the common cold.

Mr Livingstone, if you're re-elected(god forbid!) do you intend inviting more of your foriegn Islamic extremist friends to London to explain why they are calling for a holy war on the UK & the West in general and Jews in particular? It would be nice to know!

Don't encourage that, the Travelcard is cheaper.

Ken
Don't you get fed up with the 4x4 whingers who have company cars with companies who pay their car bills? Do you sometimes wish they'd be a little less selfish and realise that their toll money goes to pay for kids fares on buses, which is good news for families on low incomes who go to state school and dont have parents chauffering them onto the zig-zag lines outside their private schools?
