A MOTOR project was given the VIP treatment when various dignitaries visited the scheme.
Skidz, the Wycombe Motor Project, based in Leigh Street, Castlefield, was visited by Wycombe's MP, Paul Goodman, Earl Howe and the chairman of Wycombe District Council, Bill Jennings on Friday.
The group were there for an update of the work Skidz does in training young people, many of whom are having problems at school or have committed or might commit car crime.
Mr Goodman, who has visited the project before, said he was very impressed at the way Skidz encouraged teenagers to learn.
He said: "I think they are doing remarkable work. When I go to Skidz, I always think Skidz can be a model for education in the future."
Mr Goodman added: "I think what is useful and almost unique about Skidz is the way they have managed to make young people involved in learning."
Steve Godfrey, project manager of Skidz, said: "It was a very positive meting. It was a case of updating them and showing the new premises. It was all positive and supportive."
Skidz is currently in the process of expanding its premises to enable new courses to be put on and for more people to attend the courses available.
The project has received its fair share of visitors in the past few weeks with MEP James Elles being shown round on November 23.
