The headteacher of a troubled Croydon senior school has left.

Croydon Council confirmed this afternoon that Janet Packer, headteacher of Selsdon High, had left her position with immediate effect.

Mrs Packer left the school today after bidding farewell to pupils and and teachers.

She insists that it was her decision to leave but disgruntled parents have been calling for her resignation for some time following a series of incidents involving unruly pupils.

An Ofsted report judged the Farnborough Avenue school as inadequate following an inspection last autumn.

Mrs Packer tried her hardest, however she wasn't good at doing her job. People say that Ofsted told her to resign or she would get sacked. There is a serious bulling thing going on up at selsdon that needs to be resolved. Laterly i have done my SATs a yr early and when we finished on the firday she came in and explained herself to us

Janet Packer tried her hardest at Selsdon to ge tall of the kids to behave but she was not the best Selsdon had seen. Ever since Dr. Newton left in early 2000 (2002 i think) the school went downhill. Gordon Smith was a much more appreciated and respected by the students because he cared about results and not trhe way kids acted.
